I met Eddie in the late 1970's. He and John Paschal made it possible for me to exercise my lifelong dream of driving a race car. Our racing successes were limited but a lifetime relationship ensued and I am saddened to know he is no longer with us. A man of few words, he was a person with numerous talents and a wry sense of humor. He came to my aid on more than one occasion and although we had a rough spot along the way, I always held him in high regard and esteem. Our last visit was last year at his assisted living facility near Tampa. The sparkle in his eyes was less bright and his memory had faded considerably, but the quick smile of recognition frequently flashed on his face as we talked about our Rockaway days and escapades. Eddie was a hard working good provider who asked for little, but often gave very much. I'm glad he was a part of my life. Gary Raymond
