Dear Jeanne and family:
I am sorry I am not able to be their with you. Sam and I were the last of the Alvine family as the children of the children of Antonio and Antoinette Alvine who immigrated to the US in 1886, We all gathered for occasions at our parents homes in Newark and Bloomfield, etc. . Vivid in my mind is a gathering at my parents in Bloomfield just prior to all cousins going into WWII. We remember the family history so often. My heart and love to you and your family with deep sympathy. The last time Sam and I and our family caught up was at my brother Arnold's wake. I was always impressed and loved Sam's quick and bright thoughts, great memory and sense of humor.
Sam and you and your family will be in my prayers.
