William J. Flynn Sr., 93, of Warwick, NY, passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at Schervier Pavilion in Warwick, NY. He was born and raised in Paterson, NJ, then living in Totowa, Boonton, Rockaway, and retired to Milford, PA., before moving to Warwick, NY. Bill proudly served in the US Navy during WWII and the Korean Wars from 1937-1951. He received the American Theatre Medal (2 stars), European Theatre Medal (5 stars), American Defense Medal "A", Asiatic Pacific Medal, Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal and a Letter of Commendation. Bill was a Stationary Steam Engineer before retiring for Beecham, in Parsippany. He was a member of the VFW Posts 8612 Milford, PA; 242 of Boonton and Totowa. He also was a member of the Cliff Park Golf Club and previously a Semi Professional Caddy. William was the beloved husband of the late Rhoda C. Flynn (nee Wardlow); loving father of William J. Flynn Jr. and his wife Jennifer, Robert and his wife Mary, Eileen Beysel and her husband William, and the late John Flynn; cherished brother of Sr. Patricia Flynn, O.P., and the late Robert Flynn Sr.; dear grandfather of Peter, Kristin, Shannon, Billy, Grace, Sarah, Emma and great-grandfather of 4. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at 8:30 AM at Dangler Lewis and Carey Funeral Home, 312 West Main St., in Boonton; with a 9:30 AM Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, in Boonton. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, in Boonton. Visitation will be on Monday, October 27, 2014 from 4-8 PM at the funeral home.
