Anthony John "Cobby" Accinni , 89, of Boonton, NJ, passed away at home on February 13, 2016. Cobby was born in Boonton and was proud to be a lifelong resident, living in the same home since birth.
Cobby served his country during World War II in the United States Navy aboard the USS Yorktown. Upon his return home, Cobby worked for Aircraft Radio and retired as a Letter Carrier from the United States Postal Service in Boonton.
Cobby was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council # 1954 in Boonton, and also a longtime member of the South Boonton Field Club. Cobby was also an avid Dodger fan.
Cobby is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Madalene ( nee Benjamin ), his loving children Glen, William and Edwin and his wife Kelly. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren Valerie and Chad Hemenway, Charlene, Allison and Kevin Katz, Katie and Stephanie, his greatgrandchildren Claire, Madelyn and Logan, and his dear sister Grace Mudrock. Cobby's pet parrot of over 50 years, "Dukie" survives him as well. Cobby was predeceased by his siblings Nicholas, Viola Tucker and Lucy DiGiosaffatte.
Funeral services will commence on Friday, February 19, 2016, at 8:30 AM at Dangler, Lewis and Carey Funeral Home, 312 W. Main Street, Boonton, NJ. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 910 Birch Street, Boonton, NJ. Interment will follow immediately at St. Mary's Cemetery, in Boonton. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 18, 2016, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice in Cobby's memory.
