Anthony Bellini, 87 years old, passed away Sunday, December 23, 2012, at Compassionate Care Hospice, in Dover. He was born in Brooklyn and raised and lived in Boonton .
Tony was a truck driver for BMX Express, in Boonton for 26 years. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WWII; he earned Allstate football honors while playing at Boonton High School; inducted into the Boonton Hall of Fame and was a member of the Boonton Panther’s semi-pro football team; a member of the South Boonton Field Club; the Knights of Columbus Council # 1954; the Boontonites; and was the chairman of the Recreation Committee of Boonton.
Tony was the beloved husband of Lillian “nee Picconi”. Devoted father of Linda Strum and husband Joseph; Alfred and wife Ildiko; Anthony Jr.; Mark and wife Tricia ; and Lisa Watson and husband Stephen; loving brother of Frances and of the late Antoinette and Theresa; cherished grandfather of Andrea, Lora, Ian, Danica, Isabella, Bianca, Natalia, Liliana, and Kristian; Great-grandfather of Luciana, Matteo.
A Memorial wake will be Thursday, December 27, 2012 at Dangler Lewis and Carey Funeral Home, 312 West Main St. Boonton, NJ. From 3-7 PM. A Memorial Mass will be Friday, December 28, 2012 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 910 Birch St. in Boonton at 10:00 AM. Letters of condolences may be posted at www.
