Obituary of Stephen John Koval

Stephen J. Koval Sr , "Steve", 78, of Boonton passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at Morristown Memorial Hospital. He was born in Morristown , living in Boonton, Youngtown, Ohio; and moving back to Boonton. After retirement, Steve enjoyed his dual residency in Boynton Beach, Florida where he cherished good times with many friends there. Stephen proudly served in the Army National Guard in Morristown. He was employed as the Director of Public Works for the town of Boonton; a past member of Knights of Columbus Barett Council #1954 in Boonton, Boonton Fire Department, Rescue and Salvage, for 54 years. He also was a member of the South Boonton Field Club and past member of the Boontonites. Steve was an avid golfer and loved spending time with his grandchildren and watching their games, as well as going on vacation with the family. Stephen was the beloved husband of 56 years, of Eleanor (nee Marrone); loving father of John and his wife Beverly, Lenora Benjamin and her husband Jonathan and the late Stephen J. Jr.; dear friend of the late Johnny DiGuiseppi; and cherished grandfather of Michael, David and Carly. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at 8:30 AM at Dangler Lewis and Carey Funeral Home, 312 West Main St. in Boonton, NJ; followed by a 9:30 AM funeral mass at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 910 Birch St., Boonton. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery, in Boonton. Relatives and friends may visit on Friday, November 22, 2013 from 3-8 PM at the funeral home.
