Florence Marcello Payack, 93 Wallingford, CT (formerly from Boonton) Florence Marcello Payack died suddenly after a long illness in Wallingford , Connecticut. She was 93 years old having been born on Feb. 8, 1922 and raised in Boonton, New Jersey the youngest of the nine children of Joseph and Ernestine Lambiase Marcello. "Dolly" attended St. Mary's elementary school and graduated from Boonton High School, where she was the head drum majorette. During World War Two she served on the assembly line at Aircraft Radio Corporation, which pioneered radar-based night-time landing systems; she also served as a nurses aide during the War. After the War, she married Peter P. Payack, a veteran of the Normandy Beaches and Battle of the Bulge. After raising her four children in Boonton, she attended Kean University and taught 6th Grade at St. Mary's Elementary in Denville, NJ for many years. Later she was an executive secretary at St. Clare's Hospital from which she retired in 1997. In 2013, she published La Bellezza Della Vita: La Famigilia , a book of family memoirs with each story centering upon authentic Marcello family Southern Italian recipes. She is predeceased by her husband of 42 years, Peter Paul Payack. Surviving are her four children, Christine of Alexandria, VA; Bonnie Kipperman of Woodbridge, CT and her husband Harry, and their two children, Alex, Rachel and her daughter Emma; Peter of Cambridge, MA, his wife Monica, their sons Peter Paul (and his significant other, Brianna Touzjian) and Michael, his wife Laura and their two children, Rowan Marc and Natalie Monica; Peter's twin brother, Paul of Austin,TX, his wife Millie, and their two daughters, Rebecca Payack Roman and her husband Harry of Brooklyn, NY, and Elisabeth and her two sons, Dorian and Isaiah, also of Austin, Texas. A wake will be held on Friday, Sept. 11 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the Dangler, Lewis and Carey Funeral Home (973.334-0842), on 312 West Main Street, Boonton. A mass will be said at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 910 Birch Street on Saturday morning at 9:30 am with internment at St. Mary's Cemetery, Woonton Street, immediately thereafter. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in the name of Florence Marcello Payack to the Morris County Library Foundation, PO Box 405, Morristown, NJ 07963. All proceeds will be directed to their children's programs
