Obituary of James E Oot

James Ernest Oot, 62, of Boonton James Ernest Oot, 62, of Boonton passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at Regency Grande Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Dover. James was born and raised in Syracuse, NY and lived in Ohio prior to settling in Boonton 30 years ago. James worked in advertising sales for Bayard, Oot and Jones Advertising in Boonton. He was a Past Grand Knight and longtime member of the Boonton Knights of Columbus, Walter J. Barrett Council #1954 , and served as president of the Parent/Teacher Organization of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel School in Boonton. Visitation will be held Friday, August 25, 2017 from 4 to 8 PM at The Dangler Lewis and Carey Funeral Home, 312 West Main Street Boonton, NJ 07005. A Knights of Columbus wake service will take place at 7 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday August 26, 2017 at 10:00 AM, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 910 Birch Street, Boonton, NJ. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made in James' name to research his rare form of brain cancer. 100% of donations received support research at eh Brain & Spine Institute, where Jim was treated. James is survived by his devoted children Lena Oot, Emily Oot and Adam Oot, and his caring siblings Mary Anne Sapiro and her husband Lee and Michael Oot and his wife Loretta and his loving longtime companion Joanne Jaeger.
