Obituary of Frederick Sloat

Frederick Sloat, 83 Boonton, NJ Frederick Sloat passed away Friday, January 11, 2013, at Merry Heart of Boonton Twp. He was born and raised in Roselle Park, lived in New Providence before moving to Boonton Township, 6 years ago. He was involved with St. Andrew’s Church, in New Providence and held various positions on the church vestry. Fred proudly served in the US Army receiving the National Defense Service Medal. Mr. Sloat worked for Alexander & Alexander in Princeton, NJ before retiring. Fred was the beloved husband of the late Elizabeth “Betty” “nee Ghan”; loving father of Karen Sloat-Olsen and husband Eric; John and his wife Jan; beloved brother of Robert and wife Caroline. Cherished grandfather of Hannah, Christopher, Catherine & Jacqueline; and uncle of Elisabeth & Andrew . A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, January 19, 2013 at St. Andrews Church, 419 South Street, New Providence NJ. Interment of cremains to follow.
