Obituary of Joan L. Riker

Joan L. Riker, 85 South Pasadena, Florida Joan Riker, 85 years old, passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2013, at The Springs at Boca Ciega Bay in St. Petersburg, Florida. She was born and raised in Jersey City, moving to Lake Hopatcong for 15 years and then retiring in Florida. After receiving her Masters of Nursing, Joan was the assistant Director of Nursing at Jersey City Medical Center, for 27 years, then retiring as Director of Nursing at Newton Memorial Hospital, after 16 years. She was also a member of the Championship Auto Racing Auxiliary. Joan was the beloved wife of Edward J. Riker, loving mother of Joan Reason, Janet Togno, Judith Brunone and husband Robert; Step Children William, John and Thomas Riker; beloved sister of Kenneth Allen; also survived by 14 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren. Funeral service will be Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 9:00 AM at Dangler Lewis and Carey Funeral Home, 312 West Main St., Boonton followed by a 10:00 AM funeral mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 910 Birch St., Boonton .
