Edmund Joseph "Ed" "Moose" Amari, 83 Boonton, NJ Edmund J. "Moose" Amari, 83, of Boonton peacefully passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Visiting will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2015, at Dangler Lewis & Carey Funeral Home, 312 West Main Street, Boonton, NJ 07005 from 4 to 8 PM. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday , September 30, 2015 at Our Lady Of Mount Carmel Church 910 Birch Street Boonton at 9:30 AM. Interment will follow at Saint Mary's Cemetery in Boonton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel School, 205 Oak Street, Boonton Township, NJ 07005. Moose was born in Morristown and was a lifelong resident of Boonton. He was a letter carrier working for the Boonton Post Office. Mr. Amari proudly served in the United States Navy from 1950 to 1953, serving on the Aircraft Carrier Oriskany and crossing the equator and rounding Cape Horn in 1952. Moose was a member of the South Boonton Hose & Engine Company #3 for over 58 years, where he served as Captain and Chief's Driver. He was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, where he received all of his sacraments. A member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Knights of Columbus Council #1954, the Oriskany Reunion Association, and the Boonton VFW Post #242. Edmund was the beloved husband of 58 years to Mary "Blaho" Amari. Loving son of the late Mario and Mildred Amari. Devoted father of Dr. Denise DeLuca and her husband Frank, Doreen Ohlott and her husband Robert, Donna Koval, and the late Nadine Amari. Loving brother of Elaine Hopkins, Vera Salvemini, and the late Ronald Amari. Cherished grandfather of Alex, Bryan, Frank, and Caroline.
