Joseph M Grasso, 91 Montville, NJ Joseph M. Grasso passed away peacefully on August 18, 2015 at the age of 91. He was born in Scranton, PA and was raised in Newark before living in Parsippany, Irvington, East Stroudsburg, PA, and back to Montville, NJ. Joe was a retired Engineer from Westinghouse , in Bloomfield, NJ. He proudly served in the US Army during WWII. Joe was a member of the Invasion Fleet on D-Day, in the battle of Normandy and the Rhineland Campaign. He was honored with a purple heart medal, a Distinguished Unit Badge, and an European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon with three bronze battle stars. Joe was an avid Mets fan and also enjoyed playing ball, bowling, dancing and golfing. Most of all, he loved his family and family gatherings. We were blessed to have him in our lives and will be missed deeply. Joe was the beloved husband of Madeline Grasso (Nee Guarducci) and the late Marion Grasso (nee Crisafulli); dear father of Janis Borbas and her husband Peter, Joe Grasso and his wife JoAnn, Step-father of James Logothetis and his wife Lori and Maria Kehl and her husband Jack; cherished brother of Anne Rahner , and predeceased by Anthony, Nicholas, Gerald, and Attilio Grasso; devoted grandfather of eight, great-grandfather of 2 ; also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2015 starting at 8:30 -9:30 AM at Dangler Lewis and Carey Funeral Home, 312 West Main St., in Boonton. Interment will follow directly to Restland Memorial Park, 77 Deforest Ave., East Hanover, NJ. for 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends may visit on Friday, August 21, 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. at the funeral home.
