Obituary of Richard Peter Fogaroli
Richard Peter Fogaroli
Richard Peter Fogaroli,85, of Ledgewood, NJ, peacefully and suddenly passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2025. He was born in Jersey City, NJ to Victor and Catherine. Growing up in Flanders and Succasunna, NJ, he graduated from Roxbury High School. He graduated form Villanova University with a degree in chemical engineering with honors. Then he earned a master's degree form Columbia University in Chemical Engineering. Continuing his education, he earned both a master's degree and PHD in Mechanical Engineering form Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
He had an impressive career. After graduation , he worked for North American Aviation and worked on the Apollo Program in California. He moved to Pennsylvania. He was a aerothermodynamicist. Furthermore, he worked as a program coordinator at GE/University of Pennsylvania Engineering Doctoral Program. In that capacity, he served as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering.
Also, he was the lead engineer in the developmet of aerothermodynamic techniques for a space program. Later he worked as an engineer in other capacities. He became an aerospace engineer at Lockheed Martin as well... Throughout his career, he published numerous professional articles and technical reports.
After his retirement, he moved back to Roxbury Twp. where he was active in his church and community. As a devout church atendee of St. Therese Church, he formerly served as a Eucharistic minister for hospice and the dialysis center. Also, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus and participated in other ministries throughout his life.
He loved doing crossword puzzles using a magic marker, instead of a pencil because he was so good at it and also enjoyed word searches. He was an avid Yankee fan, New York Giants fan, and Villanova Basketball fan.
Throughout his life, he loved his dogs and took such good care of them. They were an important part of his life. Of course, he loved being with his family. He was a proud uncle and Godfather to his niece, Michele and a devoted son and brother.
He was predeceased by his parents Victor and Catherine. Richard is survived by his brother, Denis, sister-in-law, Linda and neice, Michele and other relatives.
Visitation will be from 3-6 pm on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at Dangler, Lewis and Carey FuneralHome, 312 West Main Street, Boonton. A funeral mass will be offered at 10:00 am on Thursday, January 23rd, 2025 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 910 Birch Street in Boonton. A private burial will be held.
