Obituary of Joseph John Carnogursky

Joseph J. Carnogursky passed away on Saturday, December 21st after a long illness at his home in Boonton.   His wife was by his side. 

Joe was born and raised in Montville.  His parents Jacob Charnogursky and Elizabeth Hrobak were both born in Czechoslovakia but met in the United States after emigrating here.  After Joe's graduation from Boonton High School, he enlisted in the Marine Corps Reserve and in 1950 he was called to active duty and saw combat in Korea.  After his discharge in 1952 he studied air conditioning and refrigeration and became an expert technician.  He then went into sales and bought into an established business, A.C. & R., Inc.  He eventually was the sole owner and ran the company  until his retirement a few years ago when he became ill.

He married Sophie Kovalcik in 1954 and had 2 children, Michael and Noelle. After being widowed in 1974 he met and married Marleine Patrick Aiello in 1984. Joe  was predeceased by his son Michael, his step-daughter Marleine Kowal, and his brother Andy.

Joe leaves his wife Marleine, his sister Helen, stepson Frank Aiello, his grandsons Thaddeus Kowal and Daniel Kowal as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

Visitation is 4PM to 8PM on Friday night December 27th,at  Dangler Lewis & Carey, 312 Main Street, Boonton, NJ  07005

Funeral Mass is 10AM on Saturday December 28th at Sts. Cyril & Methodius Church, followed by interment at Sts. Cyril & Methodius Cemetery.
