Josephine Simon, 95

Josephine Simon, née Pennachio, died peacefully alongside her loving daughter, Barbara at Victoria Mews Assisted Living, Boonton Twp. on February 12, 2023 at the age of 95.  Josephine was truly loved by all!

Born in Manhattan on April 8, 1927, she relocated to Astoria, Queens in 1955 where she raised her children, Barbara and Jeffrey.

Josephine, “Jo”, worked as a secretary to the Sales Manager of Charmer Industries Distilled Brands. Upon her retirement, she moved to Suffern, N.Y. and eventually to Boonton Twp.  Josephine, the youngest of eight, was predeceased by her seven brothers and sisters and her loving son, Jeffrey.

Josephine is survived by her daughter Barbara and spouse George Kerrigan. She was the loving grandmother to Barbara’s children Lisa and husband Christopher & Eric and his fiancée Kelly and great grandmother to Lisa & Chris's children, Lucas and Madison. Jo is also the step-grandmother to George's children, Lauren and husband Anthony, and great-grandma to their children, Aidan, Matthew, and Beckett and Brian and wife Jennifer, and their son Hunter. Josephine is survived by nieces, nephews and lifelong friends in addition to her new “family”at Victoria Mews.

Visiting will take place on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Dangler Lewis & Carey Funeral Home, 312 West Main St. in Boonton.

Funeral Services for Josephine will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home, then to Maryrest Cemetery in Mahwah for the Entombment.
