Myles C. Morrison Obituary

Myler Clinton Morrison III, 71

Myles Clinton Morrison III, 71, of Boonton passed away on Feb.3 at Hackensack Medical Center after a long illness.

Mr. Morrison was born on Oct. 29, 1951, in Rochester, New York, but raised in Morristown, where his father was president of the medical staff at Morristown Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Morrison graduated from the Pingry School in 1969 as a member of the Cum Laude Society and Princeton University in 1973. While at Princeton, Mr. Morrison was a member of the football team and lettered for the Tigers in 1973. He was also a lead singer with Princeton’s Nassoons, the fifth oldest a cappella group in the United States, and appeared on several of their albums.

After Princeton, he attended Boston University Law School and graduated in 1976, and was admitted to the New Jersey State Bar Association the same year. He became a partner at the Cuyler, Burk and Matthews law firm.

He was currently employed by J.M. Rodgers Co., a Customs House Brokerage in Sparta.

“He was a trusted family adviser,” said Tina Andrewjewski, the vice president of business development at J.M. Rodgers. “He always gave us thoughtful and accurate business advice. He was the best of the best.”

Patricia Hunter, his friend, and caretaker for the last three years, said Mr. Morrison was an accomplished sailor and described him as "a brilliant lawyer and a brilliant man.

“Before there was Siri, there was Myles. Anybody could ask him anything, and he would know the answer,” Ms. Hunter said. “He was selfless. He treated everyone with dignity and respect, he did everything he could to help anybody and everybody. He was my best friend.”

Mr. Morrison is survived by three children, Myles D. Morrison, Laurie Morrison, and Clinton Morrison.

Mr. Morrison is survived by many friends, including Jamie Rodgers and Tina Andrewjewski, Patricia Hunter, her mother, Alice Terpolillo, and her sisters, Toniann Palumbo and Donna Malizia.
