Obituary of Ronald John Sova

He was born in Morristown, NJ, to the late Helen A (Regec) and Stephen A. Sova.

Ron was a resident of Boonton, and a parishioner of Sts. Cyril and Methodius Church his entire life.

He graduated from Sts. Cyril and Methodius Grammar School, Morris Catholic High School (1963) and the County College of Morris (1974).

Ron was employed for 32 years at Windmill Health Products in West Caldwell, NJ, as an Inventory Control/ Purchasing Manager, before retiring in May 2015.

His hobbies included organic gardening, cooking, baking, fresh and saltwater fishing. He grew a variety of organic vegetables. From tomatoes he made several varieties of tomato sauce, and from his berry patch he made several varieties of jam. Ron shared what he grew and made with his family and friends.

Ron was an only child. He was predeceased by his father Stephen (1966), and his mother Helen (2009). He is survived by his cousins Evelyn, Margie and her husband Ray, Diane and her husband Bill, Marilyn and her husband Ken, and their 2 sons Kevin and Brian, Ray Skorka and his wife Donna, and their children David, Kim, Neal and Melissa. He is also survived by Tanaya Reyes. Ron is also survived by his best friend and fishing buddy Lee Alexander and his wife Mary, Lee’s daughter Lynn and her husband Chris and granddaughter Ashton. All of them were a blessing in Ron’s life.

 

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, May 3, 2021 at 11:30 AM, at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Church, 215 Hill Street, Boonton, NJ 07005. Interment will follow immediately at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Cemetery, Hillside Avenue, Boonton, NJ 07005

 

During the COVID 19 pandemic, all persons entering the Funeral Home or Church will be required to wear a face mask or face covering throughout their stay. Likewise, all social distancing rules must be adhered to. Gathering in groups should not happen. A continued flow throughout the facility will aid in keeping us all safe, with everyone having an opportunity to pay their respects.
