Margaret Caroline Dangler, 89
Margaret C. Dangler (nee Ruff), 89, of West Orange passed away peacefully on Thursday April 15, 2021.
Visiting will be held on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at The Dangler Funeral Home of West Orange, 340 Main Street West Orange, NJ 07052.
A Funeral Mass will be offered on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1 Eagle Rock Ave. in West Orange. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Margaret’s name to; St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memorial Giving, 501 St Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105 stjude.org/memorial, or Wounded Warriors Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675.
Margaret was born in Newark and lived in Belleville and Bloomfield before moving to West Orange in 1955. She worked as a bookkeeper for Dangler Funeral Home of West Orange for many years. Prior to that she was a bookkeeper working at Lincoln National Bank in Newark, then Sunshine Biscuit in Bloomfield as a receptionist. She was a member of the Our Lady of the Valley Parent Teacher Group, worked in the school cafeteria and worked at Our Lady of the Valley Bingo. Margaret also volunteered at the West Orange PAL food concession. Marge enjoyed over 40 years of summers in Chadwick Beach with all of her friends and neighbors. Family was the most important thing in Margaret’s life, and she took such pride and joy in hers.
Margaret was the beloved wife of the late retired Sgt. George W. “Buddy” Dangler WOPD, devoted mother of Debra Casiero and her husband Matteo, Keith and his wife Terry, Darren and his wife Mellen, Kip and his wife Eileen, and Michael Dangler and his wife Missy. Loving sister of Albert Arthur Ruff Jr. and his wife Lou. Cherished grandmother of Nicole Cozzolino and her husband Franco, John Casiero and his wife Jacyln, Matteo Casiero Jr., Kristin Dangler, Breann Dangler, Marissa Gamba, Clayton Dangler, Morgan Dangler, Kyle Dangler , Ava Gamba , Darren Dangler Jr., Michael Dangler II, Grant Dangler, Kristina Dangler, and Galina Dangler. Great Grandmother of Giovanna, Nicholas, Amelia, and Harrison.
During the COVID 19 pandemic, all persons entering the Funeral Home will be required to wear a face mask or face covering throughout their stay. Likewise, all social distancing rules must be adhered to. Gathering together in groups should not happen. A continued flow throughout the facility will aid in keeping all of us safe, with everyone having an opportunity to pay their respects.
