Obituary of Leonard Andrew Stelz

Leonard Andrew Stelz, 89, of West New York, NJ

Leonard Andrew Stelz, 89, a lifelong resident of West New York, NJ, passed away on February 22, 2019 at Boonton Care Center in Boonton Township.

Leonard worked at Bendix Corp. in Teterboro, NJ as a master experimental machinist. He worked on many programs including multiple missions to the moon and the Hubble telescope.  He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Among his many hobbies, he was an avid stamp and coin collector.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, February 28, 2019, at 10:15 AM at the Church of St. Joseph of the Palisades, 6401 Palisade Avenue, West New York, NJ 07093. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Fairview, NJ. Services are under the care of Dangler, Lewis and Carey Funeral Home, 312 West Main Street, Boonton, NJ.

 Leonard was predeceased by his beloved wife Anna (Capozzi) and is survived by his loving children Leonard Stelz (Bibi), Steven Stelz and Leigh Lefkowitz (Mark Fallon) ; his cherished 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Leonard’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association, 425 Eagle Rock Avenue, Suite # 203, Roseland, NJ 07068.
