Gilda “Jill”  Adams, 93, of Rockaway, NJ

Gilda “Jill” Adams, 93, of Rockaway, NJ, passed away suddenly on Thursday, January 3, 2019. Gilda was born and raised in Boonton, NJ where she resided most of her life.

Gilda graduated from Boonton High School and worked on class reunion committees for many years. She held many positions in the business world having earned her insurance brokers’ license in the State of New York in 1950. She was an animal lover, a movie buff, and loved going to New York City to see Broadway shows. She was a member of the Boontonites Senior Club having served as secretary for 16 years. She enjoyed writing as a hobby, social activities and time with her family.

Gilda was predeceased by her husband John V. Adams in 1987, her brother Alfonso DeFiore, and sisters Anne Briarton, Jean Caragine and Louise Petrone. Gilda is survived by her loving children John V. Adams, Barbara Zorn (Mike) and Jane Day (Curt). She also leaves her adoring grandchildren Michael Zorn (Jenna), Christopher Zorn, Bethany Zorn, Jacob Day (Mariana), Collin Day and great grandchildren Aria, Logan and Lincoln Zorn and Victor Day. She also had many adoring nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 11, 2019, from 4-8 PM at the Dangler, Lewis and Carey Funeral Home, 312 W. Main Street, Boonton, NJ 07005. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2019, at 10:00 AM, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 910 Birch Street, Boonton, NJ 07005. Interment will follow immediately at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Boonton.
