Eugene John “Gene” DeFilippis, 85, of Boonton

Eugene John “Gene” DeFilippis, 85, of Boonton passed away on December 31, 2018 at Compassionate Care Hospice in Dover. Born in Bernardsville and raised in Morristown. Gene lived in Morris Plains before settling in Boonton 35 years ago.

Gene spent his career with NJ Bell in Morristown, where he retired. He proudly served his country in the United States Army.

Visitation will be held at The Dangler, Lewis and Carey Funeral Home, 312 W. Main Street, Boonton on Friday, January 4, 2019 from 5-9 PM. A Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 10 AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Boonton. Interment will follow at Holy Rood Cemetery in Morristown.

Gene is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years Rosemarie (nee Scala) DeFilippis; his loving children James DeFilippis and his wife Carol and Linda Farina; cherished grandchildren Jimmy, Jackie, Jarrett and Fallon; great grandchildren Quinntin and Ivee; caring brother Daniel DeFilippis and several nieces and nephews. Gene was predeceased by his first wife Betty (nee Nodoro) DeFilippis and his sister Dolores Villano.
