Obituary of Richard K Wilson

Boonton -  Richard K. Wilson passed away suddenly at St. Clare’s Hospital in Denville on Thursday, November 1, 2018.  He was 73.

Born in Morristown to the late Elijah and Edna (Mabey) Wilson, he lived most of his life in Boonton.

Mr. Wilson was a police officer for the Conrail Railroad Company (CSX Transportation) for over 30 years.  He was a veteran of the US Army serving in Vietnam from 1966-1968.  He was a member of the Sokol #32 of Boonton, the NJ Policemen’s Benevolent Association (PBA) and the National Fraternal Order of Police (FOP). 

He was an avid coin collector and a NASCAR enthusiast.

Mr. Wilson was predeceased by his wife Frances in 1995 and his sister Phyllis Rockefeller in 2006.  He is survived by his daughter Laura Murphy and her husband Brian; his sister Joan Van Riper; a niece and three nephews.  He will be greatly missed by his girlfriend Debbie LoFaso and their cats Bandit and Smokey.

Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.  A Celebration of Life service will be offered at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at 11:00 AM.  Interment will follow the service at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Butler.

In lieu of flowers, donations are requested by the family to the Boonton Kiwanis First Aid Squad, PO Box 16, Boonton, NJ 07005, or to the Boonton Fire Department 311 Boonton Avenue, Boonton, NJ 07005.
