Obituary of Daniel A Crochery

Daniel Alfred Crochery

Daniel A. Crochery, born Nov. 20, 1922, of Boonton, NJ passed away peacefully at age 95, surrounded by family, on Sunday, Oct. 28, 2018, after a short illness.

Danny was born and raised in Boonton to Alfred and Massimina (Massimei) Crochery. He was a genuine “Boontonite”.

 Danny attended Boonton High School. He was an avid bowler, golfer and card player.

 Danny saw the world while serving in the U.S Army Aircorp, 468th Bomb Group, 792nd  Bomb Squad, during WWII, working in “Tech Supply”.

He retired from Aircraft Radio, where he met his loving wife, and worked quality control in the Inspection Department. Dan and Mary were happily married for 54 years.

After retirement, he enjoyed having his own landscaping business.

“Dinty” was a regular member of The South Boonton Field Club. He was also a member of the VFW.

He is survived by his children, Janet LaChance and Dan Crochery, his sister Margaret Crochery, his daughter-in-law Karen Crochery, his loving grandchildren, Danielle Westenberger and Danny Crochery, and his grandson-in-law George Westenberger, and many wonderful nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at The Dangler, Lewis and Carey Funeral Home, 312 W. Main Street, Boonton on Thursday, 3-7 PM. A Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10 AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Boonton. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Boonton.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel School.
