Obituary of Charles Walter Dehnert

Charles Walter Dehnert, 85, of Stanhope

Charles Walter Dehnert, 85,  of Stanhope, passed away on September 25, 2018, at St. Clare’s Hospital in Denville. Born and raised in Newark, Charles also resided in Boonton before finally settling in Stanhope.

Prior to retirement, Charles worked for many years as a baker for Tastee Bakery in Newark. Charles was a very active parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Boonton. He was also a member of the National Rifle Association. Charles proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Charles was predeceased by his beloved wife Teresa ( de Jesus - Carreras) and his adored daughter Jackie Ulinski. Charles is survived by his loving sons Charlie (Tammie) and David (Cathleen); his cherished grandchildren Alyssa, Amy, Daniel, Dominick, Julia, Albert John (AJ) and Teresa; and his son-in-law Albert Ulinski.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 28, 2018  from 6-8 PM at The Dangler Lewis and Carey Funeral Home, 312 West Main Street Boonton, NJ 07005. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, September 29, 2018, at 9:00 AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 910 Birch Street, Boonton, NJ. Interment will follow immediately at Somerset Hills Cemetery in Basking Ridge. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Charles’ name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 Saint Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38015.
