Obituary of Julia Rose Grimes

Julia Rose Grimes, 95, of Mendham

Julia Rose Grimes, 95, of Mendham passed away on August 18, 2018 at Morristown Memorial Hospital in Morristown. Julia was born and raised in Montville, and resided in Boonton until moving to Mendham 3 years ago.

Julia worked for many years as a secretary in medical records at Riverside Hospital in Boonton Township. She was a choir member at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Boonton, St. Pius X Church, Montville and St Anastasia Church in Florida. Julia was also a member of the Boontonites.

Memorial visitation will be held on Friday, August 24, 2018 from 4-8 PM at Dangler, Lewis and Carey Funeral Home, 312 West Main Street, Boonton, NJ 07005. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 10:00 AM at St. Pius X Church, 24 Changebridge Rd. Montville, NJ 07045. Inurnment will follow immediately at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Boonton. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Julia’s name be made to the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75231-4596.

Julia was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Grimes. She is survived by her loving daughters Joanne Marriott (David), Kathleen DiYanni, and Patricia Gallagher (Gerry);  her 10 cherished grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Julia was predeceased by her daughter, Maureen Accinni, as well as her siblings Eva, Dan, Christine, Herman, Victoria and Sylvan.
