Frances “Frannie” Mackin, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, died peacefully on July 7th, 2026. She was 89 years of age. Frances was born on May 23, 1937 to Francis and Effie (MacDonald) Norvis. She was a lifelong resident of Boonton, and a lifelong parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.

In 1958, Frances wed the love of her life, Edwin T Mackin. They settled in Boonton where they raised their 7 children.

In the early days she was homemaker taking on home typing jobs. She was very active in her Children’s schooling and extra-curricular activities. All while she was soliciting donations for a tricky tray or baking cupcakes for her children’s parties, she was going door to door collecting for the American Cancer Society.

Once the children were grown, she worked as a bookkeeper and filled in other areas wherever she was needed.  

Frances loved her family dearly. She cheered on all their accomplishments and never missed a day of writing and sending letters (& cookies) when her children served in the military. She always enjoyed the family vacations in Point Pleasant Beach and the many trips she took to the islands with her girlfriends. Cards by the pool or on Monday nights are some of her favorite times. Always thrifty, she never missed a sale at JC Pennys.

Frances is predeceased by her parents, her husband Edwin, daughter AnnMarie, sisters Ronnie, Margie and Freda, and her many great friends that she had since childhood.

She is survived by her sons Michael, Edwin, Jimmy (Allyson) and her daughters Kathy Lovenberg (Jim), Sharon Crooker (Eddie) and Jennifer McCormick (Mark)

She also leaves behind her 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

She is also survived by her brothers Frank and John (Kathy) and her sister Claire. She leaves behind several nieces and nephews.

She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations in her memory be made to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, or the American Cancer Society.
