Elizabeth A Reynolds Obituary

Elizabeth “Betty” Reynolds, born April 4, 1937, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2026, in Bonita Springs, Florida, at the age of 89, surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was a beloved mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, cherished cousin, and friend to many.

A devoted Catholic, she lived each day with faith and a grateful heart. Betty’s greatest joy was her family. She was proud to raise her six girls in Boonton, New Jersey. Betty was resilient and faced life’s challenges with grace and tenacity. She was excited about life and always up for a new adventure, and there wasn’t a thing she wouldn’t try. She didn’t let the grass grow under her feet and remained active and engaged throughout her entire life. Betty loved to travel and enjoyed all of the different countries she visited. To her daughters, sons-in-law, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, she was a steady presence in their lives and a source of support and love.

Betty worked for the Boonton Board of Education for 26 years as a school bus driver. She loved her job, and “Mrs. Reynolds” was adored by the thousands of students she transported to school and sporting events over more than two decades.

For more than 30 years, Betty lived in Bonita Springs, Florida. She loved her life there. She enjoyed playing cards and games with friends and stayed active in the community. Betty took part in events such as holiday decorating and dinner dances, and was an original member of her Red Hat group.

Betty was preceded in death by her daughter, Doreen; her beloved high school sweetheart and husband of over 40 years, Thomas Reynolds, Jr.; and her cherished husband and companion in her later years, Charles Flood.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughters and sons-in-law: Kimberly Carlucci (Vincent), Suzanne Drexl (George), Cathleen Bonsiewich (John), Colleen Farley (James), and Maureen Allieri (Paul); her nine grandchildren, Vincent, James (Sian), Thomas (Caitlin), Daniel, Alexandria, Jake, Stephanie (Charles), Emily, and Abigail; and her great-grandchildren, Quinn, Devyn, Thomas, Beckett, Cillian, Murphy, and Charles.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, caregivers, family members, and dear friends who provided love, comfort, and support during her final days.

Betty will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten by many. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Betty’s memory be directed to Hope Hospice, MoreHope.org.

With grateful hearts, we invite family and friends to join us in celebrating the life of our beloved Betty at a memorial mass on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas More Church in Madison, New Jersey. Together, we will gather in prayer, remembrance, and thanksgiving for Betty’s life, honoring the love, kindness, and faith she shared with all who knew her.
