Martin Paul Inteli Obituary

Martin Paul Inteli passed away in his home in Georgetown, Delaware, surrounded by his loving family on June 14, 2026, at the age of 81. Martin is survived by his wife of 54 years, Judy Inteli; his beloved daughters Wendy Rosen, Michelle Longinotti, and Nancy Inteli; sons-in-law Eric Johnson, Joe Longinotti, and Tim Miller; his cherished grandchildren Tyler Longinotti, Jordan Longinotti, Sam Johnson, Molly Johnson, and Jake Longinotti; nephews Alfred and Paul Onorati and their spouses; and extended family members, including his great-nieces-and-nephews, and friends who will forever treasure his memory.

Marty was born on May 13, 1945, in Newark, New Jersey to Rose D’Amico and Thomas Inteli. He grew up alongside his older brother, Thomas; sisters, Josephine and Theresa; brothers-in-law, Paul Onorati and Santiago Pellon; and sister-in-law, Joan Inteli. He proudly served as a sergeant in the US Air Force from 1963 to 1967 during the Vietnam War. He often shared fond memories of being stationed at Ramstein Air Base in Germany, where he was an equipment mechanic.

Marty met the love of his life and started a family and career in law enforcement. He was a volunteer firefighter, corrections officer at the Morris County Jail and later went on to become a police sergeant with the Kinnelon Police Department, where he was a firearms instructor. He held multiple side jobs, including construction and an uplifting experience driving a bus at the 1985 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid, New York.

After retiring from the Kinnelon Police Department and moving to Delaware, he enjoyed volunteering at the Dover Air Force Base, working part time for Harrison House Senior Center, and serving on the auxiliary Coast Guard.

Marty was passionate about nature and the outdoors, teaching his girls how to fish, throw a football, and ride an ATV; taking motorcycle rides to see the fall foliage; and boating with his family. He took great pride in watching his grandchildren participate in their various activities. Marty’s family will remember him as a loving husband and devoted father and grandfather, who had a strong work ethic, a good sense of humor, and who loved to have a malt or milkshake no matter the time of day.
