Karyl Ann Darker (Hartman), 85, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 21, 2026, peacefully at her home.

Born on July 31, 1940, in New Tripoli, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Charles S. and M. Rachael Hartman.  Karyl was raised in New Tripoli and graduated from Northwestern Lehigh High School.  She spent most of her adult life in Hackettstown, New Jersey where she raised her family and worked at Mars Incorporated for over 20 years as a Sales Analyst. 

Karyl treasured her time with her family, and with friends at Trinity United Methodist Church.  She left a legacy of love, kindness, and strength that will live on through her children and grandchildren.  While we are heartbroken, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and will carry her memory in our hearts forever.

She is survived by her beloved children, Todd Darker and his wife Patti of Glenwood, Jayne Amodio and her husband John of Flanders, Peter Darker of Boonton; three grandchildren, Erik Darker (wife, Linh), Bryan Darker, and Rachyl Valentine (fiancée, Tommy O’Brien) and her special other son Michael Healy.

To honor her wishes, all services will be private.
