[Joanne Higgins] [Joanne Shanley Age 75 of Boonton , passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 10, 2025 at Morristown Medical Center.

A Memorial service will be held at 1050 Littleton Road on November 15th at 10:30 am with Father Luis of St. Christopher’s Roman Catholic Church officiating. A Celebration of Life will follow at Lake Parsippany Clubhouse 701 Lake Shore Drive, Parsippany, NJ

Joanne was born in Orange , NJ to Joseph P. Higgins on March 9, 1950. She went to high school at Orange High School.She worked as a site manager for Morris County Nutrition before retiring in 2018.

Joanne always had a childlike spirit & connected with children & animals alike. She had a strength like no other. Always fighting though battles to make sure she was always there for her daughter & grandsons. As a mother & Grandmother she gave love so unconditionally .She enjoyed spending time with her angel babies as she called her grandsons, loved working with senior citizens, loved her animals & genuinely loved her family & spending time with all of them..

Joanne is survived by her daughter Shirley J Shanley of Parsippany , Her Grandsons Hunter Shanley-Steele & Aidan Shanley- Steele. Her Bonus Daughter Brittany Shanley. Her sister Cecelia Pascale , ( Salvatore Pascale). Her Sister Kathleen Habel, ( Paul Habel) Her Best Friend Annie Welch. Many Nieces & Nephews as well as Great nieces & nephews and many cousins.

She is preceded in death by her father Joseph P. Higgins, Her ex husband but forever friend William E. Shanley, Her Sister Patricia Ann Hart, Her Niece Kaitlyn Pascale & her Nephew Victor Chesna.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to all of those who have so graciously given love, support, food & donations to her family during this time.
