Born on November 12, 1959, in Canada, Dan made Boonton his lifelong home. The loving son of Lina and Italo Piccioni, both deceased, he grew up with his brothers, David and Christopher, forging lifelong bonds that grounded him and shaped the man he became.

Dan’s heart beat in rhythm with his community. He served as Ward 3 alderman, Parks and Recreation liaison, and fire commissioner before proudly joining the Boonton Fire Department as a member of South Boonton Hose and Engine Company #3, as well as being on Boonton's Board of Education. A musician at heart, he began with the Harmony Drum Corps playing the fife and later served in the color guard. Outside of civic life, he pursued his passions with vigor as an 8th-degree black belt in Isshinryu Karate and a devoted motorcyclist.
Dan is survived by his beloved fiance, Susan, and his cherished brothers, David and Christopher. As well as his nephews, Anthony, Christopher and Dale and his wife Heather, and his great nephew Eli.
