Carol Ann Barnes, 79, of Boonton Township

Carol Ann Barnes, 79, of Boonton Township, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on September 16, 2025, at St. Clare's Hospital in Denville. Born in Newark, Carol grew up in Bloomfield and and after marrying the love of her life, she lived in Mountain Lakes, before settling in Boonton Township for 47 years ago.

Carol met her husband George while working for ShopRite Supermarkets. They got married and raised their three daughters. Carol was a devoted mother and loving grandmother, aka. Gagi. She was a stay-at-home mom for many years and then worked at North Jersey Physicians Review in Parsippany. For many years she was part of the Mountain Lakes Junior Women's Club, a member of the Mountain Lakes Country Club, an avid racquet ball player, bowler, and tennis player. She always gave a helping hand to all; whether on the Rockaway Valley School HSA or as a coach for her daughter's softball Little League teams. She was a friend to all and considered her friends family. She was her grandchildren's biggest cheerleader at all of their sporting events, and loved making memories with her family in LBI.

Visitation for Carol will be held on Sunday, September 21, 2025, from 12-4 PM at the Dangler Lewis and Carey Funeral Home, 312 West Main Street, Boonton, NJ 07005. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, September 22, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow immediately at Marcella Union Cemetery in Rockaway Township. Carol is survived by her loving children Shannon Jacobs and her husband Joseph, Allison Mayhood and her husband David and Jennifer Rizzo and her husband James; her cherished grandchildren Carolyn, Emily, Justin, Carly, George, Alexander and Franklin; and her loving sister, Annette Ingannamorte; and many nieces and nephews.
