Kathleen A Connor was born on 12/17/1934 to Edith and John Connor. She died peacefully and comfortably in her sleep on July 16th 2025. She is survived by her nieces and nephews; Richard Jacobsen (Lori), James Jacobsen (Ellen), Jeffrey Jacobsen(Eileen), Sheila McGroddy, (Gourav Dalmiya), Kathy McGroddy Goetz (John), Christine McGroddy (Christopher Rotti) , James McGroddy (Heather), Shelagh Connor Shapiro (Jerry), Maura Connor Lohrenz (Steven).

“Kathie”, the third child, and sister to MaryAnn, Jack and Edie spent her entire life giving of herself and taking care of people and animals. Her life career started in the convent, as a nurse within the order of the Dominican Sisters of Hawthorne. Her calling was to care for terminally ill children and their families. Kathie chose to leave the organized religious life, and joined the workforce at the VA Hospital. Upon retirement, she returned to caretaking and joined a Hospice organization. She was a very special human with a heart bigger than most!

Kathie had many, many outside interests and hobbies. First and foremost was her commitment and involvement within the Catholic community. She sang in the choir, volunteered on many committees, served as an Eucharist minister, and attended mass daily. Her friends were all Church goers and they all became each other’s support group!

Kathie always had cats!!! Her first cat, Munchkin, was exactly that, a very small kitty! Then Sadie and Sam, and most recently”Kitty Cat”, a companion, mechanical cat! Kathie loved animals and gardening. She always shared her perennials and talked emphatically about expanding and taking care of her gardens! Her favorite flower was the rose.

Kathie was a remarkable woman. God and her independence were most important to her! She yearned for nothing more and nothing less. She was always happy going to church and afterwards driving endless miles to take in the beauty surrounding her. Her family is blessed to have had her in their lives. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the ASPCA. 

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 from 9:15 AM to 9:45AM  at Saint Pius X Church, 24 Changebridge Road in Montville NJ, 07045. The Funeral Mass will be  held directly after at 10:00am. The burial is to follow at St. Vincent's Cemetery, located on Shunpike Road & Noe Avenue, Madison, NJ 07940.
