James Stock Obituary

James’s Stock Sr., 93, passed away peacefully at his home in Boonton Township, NJ on July 5, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. Born on April 27, 1932, in Passaic NJ to the late William and Anna Stock. He was the youngest of 8 children.


“Jim” attended St. Peter’s Preparatory School in Jersey City, NJ and remained an active participant of the Alumni Association over the years. From there he went on to St. Peter’s College before joining the United States Army in 1953. He was Honorably discharged in 1955. Jim had a very successful career, spanning decades, as a construction supervisor and an independent contractor. He was greatly admired and respected in his industry. Jim enjoyed family gatherings and hunting and fishing at “the Farm” in Pennsylvania as well as trips to the Jersey Shore every summer. His sharp wit and humor were loved by everyone and will always be remembered.


Jim is survived by his wife, Patricia J. Young and 4 children; Deborah Dickinson and husband John, Cynthia Huson and husband Mark, James Stock Jr., William Stock and wife Karen, 7 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and other loving family members and friends.


Jim’s Celebration of Life will include a visitation on Friday, July 18, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Dangler, Lewis & Carey Funeral Home, 312 West Main St., Boonton, NJ 07005. A 9:00 AM Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at St. Pius X Church, 24 Changebridge Rd., Montville, NJ 07045. Interment will follow at St. Cecilia’s Cemetery, 1878 Bethany Tpke, Pleasant Mount, PA.


In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Seeing Eye or a charity of your choice.
