Obituary of Carolyn Diane Donadio
Carolyn Diane Donadio
February 28, 1965 - June 29, 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of Carolyn Diane Donadio (née Orlando), who left us peacefully on June 29, 2025, at the age of 60.
Carolyn was born on February 28, 1965, in Boonton Township, NJ, where she was raised and spent most of her life. She graduated from Boonton High School and went on to attend Saint Elizabeth’s College. Carolyn met her husband, Tom, at Jersey Central Power & Light Company, where they both worked. After a brief time living in New Brunswick, NJ, Carolyn returned to Boonton Township with her husband, where they purchased the home she had grown up in. There, she raised her family and spent the rest of her life surrounded by loved ones.
Carolyn was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend to many.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Thomas Donadio; her loving daughters, Nicole Donadio of Parsippany, NJ and Danielle Volkmann (husband Anton) of Long Beach Township, NJ; her cherished mother, Arlene Orlando of Whippany, NJ; her dear sister, Holly Och (husband Chris) of Bedminster, NJ; and several adored nieces and nephews. Carolyn was predeceased by her father, Gerald Orlando.
Known for her warmth, humor, and unshakable kindness, Carolyn touched the lives of everyone she met. She had a remarkable ability to bring people together and was the heart of every gathering. She shared an extraordinary bond with Tom, her best friend and husband of nearly 35 years – one rooted in deep love, loyalty, and laughter.
Carolyn loved life’s simple joys - sunny days at the beach, good wine, dinners filled with laughter and friendship, and the loyal companionship of her beloved dog, Daisy. She had a generous spirit and vibrant personality, and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Carolyn’s wishes included that there be no funeral services. Instead, a Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at the Boonton Township Fire Department, located at 2 Old Denville Road in Boonton Township. Family and friends are invited to stop by any time between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. to honor Carolyn.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Carolyn’s memory to St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center in Madison, NJ - an organization close to her heart.
