Obituary of Robert Kitchell
Robert E Kitchell
02/09/1944 - 06/20/2025
Survived by his children: Bob and his wife Judy Kitchell of Lincoln Park, NJ, Mike and his wife Kathy Kitchell of Sutherlin, VA, Carole Koteles of Claremont, NH and four Grandchildren, Kyle, Brandon, Samantha and Robert.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Diane Kitchell, his parents, Elmer and Nancy Kitchell and daughter, Diane Carole.
Bob will be remembered as a loving and humble man. He took great pride in serving his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War and as a Army reservist for 24 years. His greatest joy in life was his family. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Diane, with whom he shared 57 years of love, laughter and partnership. He was a deeply loved Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle and friend.
His calm, and upbeat demeanor made everyone feel welcome and loved. Bob was referred to as a father figure to many. As a father, he led by example, always putting his family first. He instilled in his children and grandchildren the values of hard work, kindness and the importance of family. He would have given anything for his children and grandchildren, he often referred to them as "his world".
He enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, spending time with family, going camping and sitting by a fire. He was outgoing and made friends where ever he went. He was a joy to be around and will be dearly missed.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob's memory may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project.
Visiting will take place on Friday, June 27, 2025 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Dangler Lewis & Carey Funeral Home, 312 West Main St, in Boonton.
Services will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at 10:30 AM at the funeral home, then to St. Mary's Cemetery in Boonton for burial.
