More recently, he has also served as medical director for a managed care organization. Douglas cared deeply about his work as a physician, which had a profound impact on the many people he encountered and helped over the years.

Douglas loved cars! His passion was Formula 1 racing; he never missed a race and always noted the race dates on his daily calendar. He also considered himself a wine enthusiast and enjoyed reading books, especially those by Charles Dickens. His most treasured companions were his dog, Eloise, and his beloved wife, Angela, who were always by his side.

Douglas is survived by his wife, Angela; his sister, Deborah and Curt Johnson; his son, Derek Roy and Rachel Anderson; his stepdaughter, Bianca and Rob Dever; five grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and an older brother.
