He worked as an Operating Engineer for I.U.O.E. Local 825 since 1985.

Surviving are his wife of 20 years Donna (Evers), his sons Michael Jr, Peter & Stephen. His sister Tricia Durr and her husband Thomas, his brother Brian and his grandchildren Nicholas & Ava Lily.
