Obituary of Margaret M McCormick
Margaret “Meg” McCormick, of Boonton passed away peacefully on February 23, 2025, at Victoria Mews Assisted Living in Boonton Township, NJ.
Meg was raised in Morristown and attended Bayley-Ellard High School before marrying Richard McCormick and moving to Boonton.
Over the years, Meg worked as a secretary at the American Cancer Society and the Mennen Company in Morris Plains. At home, she loved to spend time with family, bake, read, crochet, knit, draw, and sing. A fan of long daily walks and dancing, Meg always kept physically active. At age 61, she began taking jazz and tap classes at Mary Lou Hale School of Dance and continued for 20 years.
Meg maintained a strong faith throughout her life and attended church frequently. She became a Eucharistic Minister at Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Boonton. At Victoria Mews, Meg was known for her warm personality, quick wit, exquisite coloring skills, and ability to sing along to any song.
Meg was predeceased by her husband Richard McCormick. She is survived by sons Michael McCormick (Mary Ellen) and Tim McCormick (Kerry); grandchildren Heather Winter McCormick, Connor McCormick, and Kiernan McCormick; and great-granddaughter Elise McCormick.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 26, at 10 AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 910 Birch Street, Boonton, NJ, followed immediately by interment at St. Mary's Cemetery in Boonton. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice in Meg’s name.
