Geraldine Barbara DeGroot, 85 Geraldine Barbara DeGroot, (nee Cox) died Sunday September 18, 2016 at Lakeland Health Care Center in Wanaque surrounded by her loving family, she was 85 years old. A visitation will be held on Friday September 23, 2016 from 3-7 PM at The Dangler Lewis and Carey Funeral Home, 312 West Main Street Boonton, NJ 07005. A Funeral Mass will take place Saturday September 24, 2016 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church 510 Birch Street Boonton at 10:00 AM. Interment will take place at Saint Mary's Cemetery Woonton Street Boonton. Letters of condolence may be posted at danglerlewisandcareyfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Gerrie's name to the Alzheimer's Association Greater New Jersey Chapter 400 Morris Avenue, Suite 251 Denville, NJ 07834-1365 Born in Montville, Gerrie was a lifelong resident of Boonton. Gerrie volunteered at the YMCA for 10 years. Geraldine was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, the Boontonites, and loved bingo and Knitting. Geraldine was the beloved wife of the late Robert DeGroot. Devoted mother of Deborah Grabowski, Jacqualine Fiore and her husband Vic, Denise Cacciabeve and her husband Robert, Thomas and his wife Lorraine, Daniel and his wife Georgette and the late Donna Marie. Loving sister of Fred Cox, Jack Cox and Wandell Cox. Cherished grandmother of 13 and great-grandmother of Luca. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
