Obituary of Marie DeMatteo

Marie DeMatteo, 92, of Boonton Marie DeMatteo, 92, of Boonton passed away on Friday January 6, 2017, at Morristown Memorial Hospital. Marie was born and raised in Newark, lived in Bloomfield before settling in Boonton 65 years ago. Marie was a graduate of Central High School in Newark, where she met her late husband Colonel Alfred DeMatteo, at an Alumni Dance. Marie was a proud homemaker. Visitation will be held on Tuesday January 10, 2017 from 10AM-12PM at The Dangler Lewis and Carey Funeral Home, 312 West Main Street Boonton, NJ 07005. Funeral services will commence at 12 PM. Interment will immediately follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Boonton. Letters of Condolence may be posted at danglerlewisandcareyfuneralhome.com.. Marie was predeceased by her husband Colonel Alfred DeMatteo and her sister Lee Catania and brother Rocco Guarino. Marie is survived by her beloved daughters Charlene Guerra (Joseph), Allison DeMatteo and Donna DeMatteo. She is also survived by her loving siblings Dolores Falco, Angie O'Shea and Thomas Guarino, as well as her nieces and nephews, and Marie's caretaker Zarina. .
